Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • Bring 10+ years of experience in operations, process engineering, reliability, or asset management within acrylic acid, acrylates, or comparable chemical processes.
  • Possess strong expertise in high-hazard, highly exothermic continuous chemical processes and associated equipment.
  • Have demonstrated success improving reliability and operability in complex or aging production assets.
  • Are able to translate deep technical insight into clear, actionable guidance across disciplines.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, process safety, and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Driving operational excellence and asset reliability in acrylic acid production units by applying deep process, equipment, and operating knowledge.
  • Serving as a technical thought partner to plant leadership, supporting troubleshooting of complex upsets and recurring reliability challenges.
  • Identifying and leading improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, operability, winterization, controls, and process robustness.
  • Supporting incident investigations and risk reduction through structured root cause analyses and mechanical integrity reviews.
  • Collaborating with global BASF technology and engineering networks to transfer best practices and implement proven solutions.
  • Coaching and developing technical capability across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
