Job Summary : The Acquisition Support Specialist I provides entry-level acquisition and contract management assistance to Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) and its subordinate Directorates and Divisions. The specialist combines analytical, administrative, and programmatic functions to assist in acquisition planning, documentation preparation, and contract oversight. The position requires familiarity with federal acquisition principles, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail in developing and maintaining procurement documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Contract Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative or acquisition-related experience.
  • Basic understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and acquisition lifecycle processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active, SECRET Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing pre-award documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Statements of Objectives (SOO).
  • Support market research by identifying potential sources and collecting pricing and capability information.
  • Help compile and maintain market research reports and small-business capability analyses.
  • Assist in developing evaluation criteria and performance measures for acquisitions.
  • Coordinate document reviews, version control, and routing for approval.
  • Support the preparation of Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) by gathering historical pricing data and vendor information.
  • Maintain acquisition tracking spreadsheets, milestones, and documentation repositories.
  • Assist in preparing post-award documentation, such as modifications and option exercises, under supervision.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for contract monitoring and reporting activities.
