About The Position

Program Description: Starwood Capital’s Acquisitions Summer Analyst Program is a 9-week immersive experience designed to provide participants with hands-on exposure to the real estate investment process in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We select a small group of highly motivated summer analysts with the objective of identifying top talent for our Full-Time Analyst Program. Due to our size and lean organizational structure, summer analysts are given a high level of responsibility and a unique opportunity to work directly with senior management, joint venture partners, investment bankers, brokers, and commercial lenders across all major real estate asset classes. Summer Analysts will gain meaningful experience through live deal execution, financial analysis, presentation materials production, market research, and networking opportunities. In addition, summer analysts will participate in a series of specialized training sessions designed to strengthen technical, analytical, and professional skills while facilitating a smooth transition into the investment industry at Starwood or elsewhere. The program is mentorship-driven, enabling interns to build lasting relationships with professionals across the firm and supporting the long-term development of a successful career in real estate investing.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Good judgement and intellectual curiosity
  • An unyielding work ethic and attention to detail
  • A demonstrated interest in real estate and finance
  • A willingness to take direction and the capacity to quickly learn and develop skills required to become an effective Analyst
  • Being a team player who feels comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment that requires cross job function collaboration
  • Must be a class of 2028 undergraduate student.

Responsibilities

  • Creating effective financial models
  • Conducting thorough research regarding real estate markets and public equity and debt opportunities
  • Carrying out assigned duties involved with the many facets of bringing a deal to funding, including presentation to final investment committee
  • Creating concise written presentations
  • Assisting with the asset management of the properties including business plan development and execution and exit strategy planning and execution.
