About The Position

Discovery Land Company is seeking an Intern to join the Acquisitions Department. Our growth-oriented company is dedicated to providing you with valuable learning opportunities as you share your ideas and creativity with the team. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the fields of internship.
  • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Must be in their junior or senior year of studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team focused atmosphere.
  • Proficiency MS Office Programs.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with all team members, potential buyers, external business associates and coworkers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and interact with various professionals.
  • Attending staff and departmental meetings on an ongoing basis and any appropriate management or coordination meetings.
  • Complete, update, and distribute communications of various types.
  • Solicite feedback from multiple project participants and following direction.
  • Assist with the department responsibilities.
  • Assist appointment manager with duties and responsibilities, support additional team members.
  • Perform daily administrative functions.
  • Other assignments as needed and assigned.
  • Assist with financial models for new acquisitions and existing projects.
  • Compile and organize data for due diligence, sensitivity analyses, and investment committee presentations.
  • Support the acquisition team by gathering and analyzing market research, including sales trends, demographics, and construction costs.
  • Help maintain project tracking documents, including task lists, action items, and status reports across departments.
  • Prepare summary reports and presentation materials for internal team meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining data rooms, organizing legal documentation, and tracking project budgets.
  • Participate in weekly pipeline and project status updates for senior leadership, documenting key findings.
  • Support modeling efforts for new business lines under guidance, such as hotels or satellite locations.
  • Conduct ad hoc research or analysis to assist senior team members with ongoing projects.
  • Learn and apply financial modeling best practices under mentorship from senior analysts.
