Apple Autos is seeking a customer-focused Retail Car Buyer to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality used vehicles directly from the public to support and maintain optimal pre-owned inventory levels at your designated location. From analyzing the market to making competitive offers and delivering exceptional customer experiences, you’ll be on the front line of our vehicle sourcing strategy. This is an on-site position in a dedicated retail location.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in automotive buying, appraisals, or sales preferred.
  • Strong understanding of used car market values and vehicle reconditioning.
  • Proficient with automotive CRM, DMS, and vehicle appraisal software (e.g., VAuto, Kelley Blue Book, AutoAlert, AutoCheck/CARFAX).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (phone, email, text)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the local and national used car market to identify current trends and opportunities.
  • Utilize internal vehicle management software to prepare accurate vehicle appraisals and market valuations.
  • Deliver timely, competitive, and data-driven offers to prospective sellers via phone, online communications, and in-person.
  • Personally meet with customers to finalize purchases and facilitate the intake process.
  • Maintain detailed records of evaluations, offers, and outcomes in company systems.
  • Collaborate to ensure alignment with the used car team, office, sales and service staff.
  • Work closely with the pre-owned inventory and sales teams to ensure alignment on vehicle needs.
  • Provide world-class customer service in every interaction, regardless of communication channel.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm at all times.
