The Acquisitions and Dispositions Intern is responsible for assisting the Acquisitions and Dispositions team with daily tasks and long-term projects in order to streamline processes and drive investment results. Financial and economic research will be a main focus of the role and will require the candidate to have a high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. The role will also include identifying, underwriting, purchasing, and selling homes that meet the company’s criteria in our target markets.

Requirements

• Enrolled in, or graduated from, a university degree program relevant to the department in which they are working.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
• Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude; dependable, require minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
• Demonstrates robust assessment, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs research of macro-economic and real estate trends to assist the team in completing long term projects that will streamline processes and result in better informed investment decisions
• Underwrites properties for purchase and sale using market value, rental comps, inspection information, and various other criteria; establishes transaction prices through the underwriting process.
• Assists in the preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reporting materials to present to senior leadership.
• Coordinates and communicates with the construction division, Asset Management, Property Management on various issues regarding the acquisition and disposition process.
• Performs weekly/monthly checks of marketing status for new acquisitions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintains the acquisition team’s pipeline tracking CRM and internal portfolio maps by performing daily and monthly updates as needed.
