About The Position

Join the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) as an Acquisition Analyst. In this role, you will direct, manage, and supervise the research, development, and purchase of Air Force weapon systems and technologies.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • At least three (3) years of experience in acquisition work
  • Experience with FAR-based acquisition approaches under time-sensitive requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited higher education institution
  • Ability to develop acquisition strategies and align capabilities with warfighter needs
  • High proficiency in communicating with senior Department of Defense officials, Congressional members (Armed Services Committee), and industry leaders
  • Ability to effectively manage procurements throughout the entire acquisition lifecycle
  • Effectively communicate phases of the acquisition lifecycle to stakeholders to prevent delays or bottlenecks in the process

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acquisition working experience with the USAF
  • A background working in acquisition focused on engineering

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review Headquarters Air Force (HAF) budget preparation and defense documentation.
  • Provide impartial assessments for Senior Air Force Leadership (SAE) oversight and decision-making.
  • Oversee Program Executive Office (PEO) execution and management of Air Force Information Dominance programs.
  • Maintain and analyze planning, scheduling, budget, and management data.
  • Study, analyze, and recommend acquisition strategies and program execution plans.
  • Offer impartial assessments of programs and prime contractor issues at key decision points.
  • Research and analyze program trends, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Recommend funding allocations, program goals, objectives, schedules, and direction.
  • Ensure compliance with program direction and identify issues.
  • Research programmatic issues and tradeoffs concerning capabilities, costs, and schedules.
  • Review and recommend changes to Air Force acquisition and capability area policies.
  • Evaluate the impact of national, Department of Defense (DoD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), and civil government policies on Air Force acquisition programs.
  • Prepare Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) documentation to reflect current programs, budgetary status, and strategies.
  • Handle confidential and classified information, correspondence, and communications, and perform other coordinated tasks
