About The Position

The Acoustics team at RTX Technology Research Center invites individuals with expertise in computational and/or experimental aeroacoustics or hydroacoustics to apply for a 2026 Summer Internship position. We are seeking an intern to join our cohesive team of research engineers and technicians who are focused on developing innovative technologies and solving challenging problems for aerospace and defense applications. The intern is expected to be innovative in the delivery of modeling capabilities or measurement techniques and technologies through creative analysis and problem solving; to possess the ability to engage and collaborate in a fast-paced multi-faceted environment; and to communicate research results effectively through both verbal and written means.

Requirements

Enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. degree program in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a closely related field, with an expected graduation date no earlier than September 2026.
Knowledge of aeroacoustics related to propulsion systems, rotor technologies, turbomachinery, compression systems, acoustic liners, high-speed flows, or hydroacoustics applied to vehicle and propulsion system noise.
Experience applying computational and/or experimental skills to advance new technologies.
U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
