Responsibilities

  • Support the full-cycle accounting / book-close process.
  • Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepare journal entries that affect the balance sheets and income statements.
  • Develop support schedules and ensure we have an audit trail.
  • Support the sales process by validating sales order completeness, setup new customers within the accounting system, code customer invoices and contribute to maintain AR aging within acceptable levels.
  • Support the capture of cost and inventory by ensuring new vendors and related acquisitions are properly accounted for within the accounting system.
  • Develop support schedules that provide the necessary controls and audit trail necessary to support the accounting of our prepaid, accrued expenses, unearned revenues, fixed assets and other deferrable balance sheet events.
  • Support the reconciliation of our bank account(s) by verifying deposits (incoming Credit Cards, ACH, wire and manual check deposits).
  • Monitor account payable aging as to mitigate fees and penalties - recommending payments and supporting the reconciliation of cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are properly coded and monthly controls are adhered.
  • Support the monthly sales tax compliance efforts.
  • Support the documentation of internal procedures and communicate control deficiencies for remediation.
  • Assist in the annual close, reporting and audit reviews.
  • Develop working knowledge of GAAP / FASB / IFRS and Revenue Recognition accounting practices and procedures.
  • Promote financial controls and regulatory compliance - helping to draft/amend policies and procedures.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to various programmatic efforts within all Traka Systems.
  • Support the reconciliation and reporting of financial results within our accounting system and Hyperion (HFM).
  • Assist in our regional expansion efforts - spanning into Latin American and Canada from a financial control, tracking and reporting perspective as and when required.
  • Uphold Traka USA's outstanding reputation for delivering superior customer service as a measure of retaining our market edge over competitor products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, naturally curious and detailed oriented.
  • Excellent communication (internal/external) and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Good working knowledge of QuickBooks, preferred.
  • Full cycle accounting exposure (book close) and end of month reporting, a plus.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor, unsupervised and as part of a fast-moving organization and team.
  • Capability to prioritize multiple tasks and critically think through complex situations.
  • Ability to follow operational procedures and work to strict project deadlines.
