About The Position

Cherokee Freight Lines is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage various accounts receivable duties in a fast-paced environment. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The specialist will handle collections, bookkeeping, and maintain accurate financial records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook.
• Experienced in the use of a 10-key adding machine.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, meticulous and thorough with the ability to meet deadlines timely and accurately.
• Ability to anticipate workflow and accommodate with minimum direction.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Utilize McLeod accounting software.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.
• Post and apply payments to open invoices.
• Enter and post cash receipts into the general ledger.
• Research root cause of unpaid or short-paid invoices.
• Monitor aging reports and contact customers as necessary.
• Prepare bank deposits.
• Organize and maintain filing system.
• Effectively communicate by telephone and email with customers and other departments as well as management.
• Follow established industry standards, company policies and procedures, and applicable law.
