About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist - Payment Applications position at Genuine Parts Company involves a critical role in managing the payment application process and ensuring accurate remittance recovery. The specialist will be responsible for contacting customers to obtain remittances for unapplied payments on accounts through various communication methods, including phone calls, emails, and letters. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and relationship building, as the specialist will need to maintain productive relationships with both internal and external customers. In addition to remittance recovery, the specialist will conduct research and perform account maintenance to address inquiries related to payment applications. This includes tasks such as reversing payments, posting payments, and managing write-offs. The role also includes providing Level 2 support for assigned data entry specialists, ensuring that all payment-related tasks are handled efficiently and accurately. The specialist will be responsible for managing and delivering results for an assigned cluster of locations, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounts receivable or customer service roles, with strong analytical skills and a customer-centric approach. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is a strong working knowledge of Excel. The position also requires conflict management skills and a results-driven mindset. Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred, along with a bachelor's degree, although the latter is not mandatory. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20 to $21, depending on experience.
