About The Position

R.S. Hughes Company, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist - Corporate who will be responsible for communicating with internal teams and customers regarding payment discrepancies in a timely manner. This key position involves reconciling daily deposits to the bank, performing daily cash reconciliations, and processing customer payments. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and instinctively readjust efforts to focus on high-priority tasks. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with customers and internal teams, and adherence to all company policies and safety protocols is expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 2-3 years of high-volume accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines independently
• Ability to multitask
• Highly organized
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Team player

Responsibilities

• Promptly review and apply all Credit Memos
• Review and process customer payments
• Identify and resolve any issues regarding customer accounts to reduce payment discrepancies and AR
• Manage G/L responsibility for A/R and A/R-related
• Perform reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner; including but not limited to daily cash reconciliations
• Manage journal entries to record miscellaneous deposits or correct posting
• Demonstrate strong verbal communications skills including professional phone etiquette
• Proactively partner with internal teams to resolve past due invoices and release credit holds
• Provide timely responses to all email, voicemail, verbal, and written communications
• Perform other job duties as assigned
