About The Position

Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative is a nonprofit organic farmers cooperative of 80 farmers in Lancaster County, PA. We focus on creating healthy high quality foods from our highly maintained and enriched soils on our small scale family farms. LFFC serves all of Eastern Pennsylvania, New York City, and most of the tri state area by connecting the farmer and customer, delivering the best local organic produce, value added products, and humanely raised and pastured animal products to retail establishments, co-ops, restaurants, and institutions. We are currently seeking an extremely organized individual to fulfill our Full Time Account Receivable Rep position. The ideal candidate would be able to work independently with a sense of urgency, be detail oriented and have a solid background in the billing and accounting field.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Solid organizational, time-management and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks.
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to working with farmers in the local, organic food movement.

Responsibilities

  • Post customer payments and issue credit memos to accounts.
  • Resolve collections by examining customer payment history and credit line.
  • Verify the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from the sales department, transportation and from customers.
  • Confer with customers to determine reasons for overdue payments and help solve any issues.
  • Post customer payments by recording checks and credit card transactions.
  • Post revenues by verifying and entering transactions from deposits.
  • Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
  • Maintain records including invoices, debits, and credits.
