About The Position

Harris Computer Systems is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Billing Clerk to work closely with the Accounts Receivable team and the Accountant to manage the division's accounts receivable. The successful candidate will join the Working Capital department and work within a dynamic and motivated team committed to continuous improvement. This position will be based in our Ottawa office, with the possibility of teleworking. The successful candidate will be resourceful, curious, self-motivated, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to manage a high workload accurately during peak periods. As an Accounts Receivable Manager, you will participate in the company's accounts receivable management process, ensuring the timely and accurate collection of payments and maintaining positive customer relationships. This role involves customer invoicing and account reconciliation. You will need to demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and outstanding communication abilities. This is a one-year contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Invoicing, credit notes, debit notes, etc. (customer account management)
  • Proactively communicate with business units about problem accounts
  • Collaborating with the collections department to resolve customer billing issues.
  • Providing prompt responses to information requests from customers and employees
  • Prepare the information required for monthly closing, quarterly closing and financial audit, and interact professionally with members of the audit team.
  • Contacting clients to arrange invoice payments, update customer information, and resolve disputes.
  • Monthly reconciliation of the revenue account for billable travel expenses with the expense account
  • Reconciliation of other accounts as needed/required
  • Other assigned/requested tasks
  • Organization and time management: Responsible for ensuring that customer documentation is accurately and promptly filed and organized.
  • Capable of identifying problem areas and reporting them to their supervisor.
  • Inform your line manager if the deadlines need to be changed.
  • Effectively manages priorities between sales and support services, finance, and customers.
