Join Birge & Held Asset Management as an Accounts Receivable Associate, where you will play a crucial role in managing resident payments and collection activities within our multifamily portfolio. This position is integral to our Accounts Receivable team, responsible for handling each step in the front-end collection process. Your duties will include posting payments, generating and distributing delinquency communications such as late notices and small balance letters, managing payment arrangements, and generating final account statements. We are looking for a self-directed and detail-oriented individual who can work well with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with other teams and departments. In this role, you will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws pertaining to apartments and multifamily residency. You will gain expert knowledge associated with our communities and any state and local collection laws. Utilizing the community's property management software, you will generate standardized resident communications and manage resident communication systems per Birge & Held standards. You will also create and communicate payment plans with delinquent residents and update legal cases when necessary. Prompt communication is key, as you will be responsible for returning missed calls and logging all communication notes in the Company's Property Management Software. Additionally, you will generate and collect final account statements when residents move out, review accounts, and submit claims for guarantor and insurance products when necessary. This position may require availability to work a non-standard schedule based on business needs, including weekend hours and time-zone based working hours. You will also gain expert knowledge of rental assistance programs in the portfolio's area. This role has the potential to be remote with less than 5% travel required.
