About The Position

This role is a hyflex work arrangement: Approximately 1 day onsite per week in Red Wing, MN headquarters office, with remote work eligibility the remainder of the week. Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Associate to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for managing, processing, and maintaining accounts receivable records for Red Wing Shoe and its subsidiaries. You'll ensure accurate cash posting, compliance with internal controls, and provide exceptional support to both internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of accounts receivable or accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and Salesforce a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and strong math skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and show initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and promptly apply domestic and international customer payments to accounts.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, exceptions, over/short payments, and billing issues.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable mailbox communications, responding to remittance inquiries, invoice requests, and statement copies.
  • Handle customer overpayments and chargeback processes using our ERP and Salesforce systems.
  • Reconcile and balance Accounts Receivable general ledger accounts.
  • Process and track miscellaneous payments through desktop deposit.
  • Collaborate with Billing partners on misrouted payments, account reconciliations, and customer research.
  • Partner with third-party banking providers, software vendors, and IT to resolve deposit and data issues.
  • Maintain electronic payment records in compliance with audit, unclaimed property, and record retention requirements.
  • Contribute to cross-functional process improvements and assist with backup functions (including hotel cash counting).
