About The Position

The Accounts Payable Associate at Breaux Petroleum Products plays a crucial role in managing cash flow and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with accounting software and online platforms.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Great listening skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Teams, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously.
  • Extremely self-motivated when managing communication channels.
  • Process focused, proactively seeks out new methods and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems.
  • Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments.
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
  • Comply with national and local financial regulations.
  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
  • Adhere to company departmental procedures.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.
  • Issue stop payments previously approved by supervisor.
  • Pay vendors by scheduling paychecks/deposits and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit.
  • Maintain historical records.
  • Obtain signatures on checks, when needed.
