The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee and participate in all Accounts Payable activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance while managing a team of Accounts Payable associates. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations within the department and collaborating with the Senior Accountant on various initiatives and projects.

  • Oversee daily operations of the accounts payable department, managing workflows and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable associates, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external controls and regularly review and improve A/P processes.
  • Prepare and run accounts payable checks / ACH for disbursements as needed.
  • Lead projects to increase efficiency in A/P processes using technological advances.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding process improvement and efficiency related to A/P.
  • Maintain and review the collection of employer identification numbers or social security numbers for IRS 1099 compliance.
  • Assist with expense invoice entry and work with the AP Preview Queue and EDI 810 Queue for reconciling, processing, and posting inventory invoices.
  • Reconcile EDI invoices and recruit new vendors as necessary.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and special projects as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or three years of Accounts Payable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience and/or training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Eclipse.
  • Certifications in accounting or finance-related fields.
  • Experience with ERP systems or advanced accounting software.
