We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service to public utilities, government agencies, contractors, and private businesses. We are currently looking for a skilled and detail oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position will maintain accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable and provide support to our Accounting Department.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or related financial roles.
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical and accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues in an effective and timely matter.
  • Ability to consistently perform required tasks within designated time frames.
  • Desire and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Verify vendor invoices have accurate job and general ledger codes.
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system with correct job and general ledger codes.
  • Reconcile vendor statements each month, request and process any missing invoices.
  • Reconcile Company credit card statements monthly.
  • Schedule and set up vendor check runs.
  • Assist with month end closing.
  • Assist in the development of the accounting processes and procedures to ensure strong internal controls, clear audit trail, proper documentation, and the flow of work between accounting and other departments.
  • Assist corporate financial officers with projects as necessary.
  • Answer phones, perform administrative tasks, and greet visitors as necessary.
  • Support federal and agency audits to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform filing, copying and other related duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and conference room areas.
  • Coordinate and schedule travel arrangements for crews during out-of-town assignments.
