Accounts Payable Specialist (Costpoint) – Hybrid | Reston, VA Client Opportunity – Contract Our client, a leading government contracting organization based in the Reston, VA area, is seeking a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist with strong experience in Deltek Costpoint . Position Overview The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the full cycle of AP activities, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs, expense reconciliations, and adherence to government contracting compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Costpoint , strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience (government contracting environment preferred)
- Required: Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Strong understanding of AP processes, GAAP principles, and internal controls
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Excellent communication, accuracy, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and timely within Deltek Costpoint
- Review invoices for proper documentation, approvals, account coding, and compliance with company and government requirements
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, check)
- Support month-end close with AP accruals and reporting
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Maintain vendor records and assist with onboarding new suppliers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, accounting, and project management
