About The Position

Overall Goal of Position:Ensure timely, accurate and compliant processing of vendor payments. Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing vendor invoices and payments, resolving discrepancies, maintaining vendor records, and supporting month-end close and audit activities. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience with accounting relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft)
Experience with AP automation systems (e.g. Medius)
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a high‑volume environment
Professional communication and problem‑solving skills

Responsibilities

Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
Verify invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and supporting documentation
Perform two‑way and three‑way matching (invoice, PO, receiving) as applicable
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date vendor master records
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status, payment timing, and discrepancies
Support vendor onboarding, including tax documentation (e.g., W‑9 collection)
Adhere to internal accounting policies, approval limits, and segregation of duties
Support compliance with SOX and internal audit requirements
Assist with special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned by management
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all AP transactions
