About The Position

Community Home Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to support the financial operations of our growing homecare organization. This role will play a key part in managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely and compliant processing of all accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, a strong problem-solver, and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
Experience with QuickBooks required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reporting, data organization, basic formulas)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle discrepancies
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work on-site in Fort Wayne, IN

Nice To Haves

Experience in healthcare, homecare, or multi-entity organizations
Familiarity with intercompany transactions or subsidiary structures

Responsibilities

Process and manage high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
Verify invoice details, coding, and approvals prior to payment
Maintain and reconcile accounts payable records and vendor statements
Ensure timely payment of invoices in accordance with company policies and deadlines
Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and payment inquiries
Assist with month-end closing processes, including accruals and reporting
Prepare and maintain Excel-based reports for tracking and analysis
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations
Continuously identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows
