About The Position

Accounts Payable Specialist – WarHorse Gaming Omaha SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring the outflow of capital for the organization. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and financial records while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn accounting software systems
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret detailed financial documents, invoices, and contracts
Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License (if applicable)

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

Receive, review, and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and completeness
Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
Facilitate vendor payments, including verifying federal ID numbers and resolving discrepancies
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner
Ensure proper coding and entry of invoices into the accounting system
Prepare and process payment runs, including check disbursements
Maintain vendor files and ensure 1099 compliance
Assist with monthly reconciliations, accounting records, and financial reporting
Identify cost-saving opportunities such as vendor discounts
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues
Perform analysis and other related duties as assigned
