About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and experience in accounts payable processes. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Requirements

• Proficient understanding of financial concepts, including account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP principles is a plus.
• Strong 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
• Experience with Ceridian or other payroll systems is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in public accounting is a nice-to-have but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing.
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Utilize QuickBooks for managing accounts payable functions and maintaining accurate financial data.
• Conduct double entry bookkeeping to track all financial transactions accurately.
• Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries regarding payments or discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of reports related to accounts payable activities.
• Collaborate with the public accounting team during audits and provide necessary documentation.
