Our Accounting Team is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated entry level Accounts Payable Specialist to support recording and processing accurate and timely processing of expenses and vendor payments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity by managing high volume invoice verification, data entry and vendor account reconciliation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills and collaborates effectively with internal teams including the Accounting Supervisor and the Financial Analyst.

Requirements

2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferred
Strong computer proficiency: advanced Excel skills required
Critical Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a high degree of integrity

Responsibilities

Review and verify vendor invoices through an intelligent data capture system for paperless processing
Reconcile vendor statements and ensure all payable balances are properly accounted for in the system
Learn and analyze the workflow processes in which all invoices are recorded and segregated based on their payment type
Maintain proper internal control measures as it pertains to the disbursements of check, EFT, and credit card payments.
Assist with the vendor set up process, the collections of W-9 forms and the distributions of IRS 1099 forms
Assist with audit preparations and requests as they arise.
