About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to provide leadership and oversight for key financial operations, including accounts payable and departmental financial performance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities. The Accounts Payable Manager partners closely with finance leadership and operational departments to support strong financial stewardship, process improvement, and business performance across the organization.

Requirements

  • Accounts payable leadership within a healthcare or complex organizational setting highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of compliance standards and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff, workflows, and financial processes while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects in partnership with operational leaders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with finance leadership, operational departments, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight and leadership of accounts payable staff and processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, internal controls, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in developing departmental goals, standards, and performance objectives that align with MaineGeneral Health’s strategic plan and long-term vision.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and financial control standards.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring service quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Lead or support financial process improvement initiatives to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and reliability.
  • Develop reporting tools and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making and financial performance management.
  • Provide business analysis and financial support for special projects, operational initiatives, and leadership requests.
