About The Position

This is a full-time position that is responsible for overseeing a broader financial oversight, managing various accounting functions such as accounts payable reconciliation, financial reporting, month-end close processes, and internal controls.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of five (5) years of experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• Ability to reason and problem-solve to complete duties assigned.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to produce accurate work and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to master various in-house software applications is essential.
• English language fluency, verbal and written.
• Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the accounts payable function.
• Manage and mentor accounting team members, providing training and development opportunities.
• Ensure all processes contain the necessary internal controls, and ensure all processes are followed.
• Perform periodic process evaluations, including process mapping, to evaluate for consistency and efficiency.
• Manage the issuance of invoices to customers, including the accurate calculation of amounts owed, application of discounts or credits, and adherence to contractual terms.
• Review accruals for expenses incurred but not yet invoiced, as well as prepayments made for future services or goods.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as purchasing, receiving, and finance to facilitate smooth processing of invoices and payments.
• Collaborate with operations, vendors and/or customers to resolve any accounting-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Oversee sales tax reporting process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review journal entries for adjustments to accounts.
• Generating reports related to accounts payable including ageing reports, cash flow projections, and analysis of payment trends.
• Analyze financial data and provide reports to leadership to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Coordinate and assist with external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• This position is responsible for directly supervising staff.
