About The Position

Griffon Aerospace is a Madison, Alabama-based defense contractor specializing in the design and manufacture of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for military customers. Our capabilities span full-system engineering design, composite and metallic fabrication, systems integration, and flight operations. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Accounts Payable Lead. The Accounts Payable Lead will ensure the smooth operation of the accounts payable department, maintain accurate financial records, enforce compliance, all while optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

BS degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field
3-5 years accounts payable experience
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work in a deadline intensive environment
Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
ABILITY TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and reconciliations.
Work closely with Procurement and Accounting Departments to ensure smooth operations.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
Extensive knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general accounting principles.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
Use Tax Reporting
1099 preparation and reporting
