About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with experience in the transportation and logistics industry, particularly in full truckload (TL) freight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, expense tracking, and general accounting processes, along with excellent organizational and analytical skills. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our freight and trucking operations, and the successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and credits. In this role, you will assist with AP expense tracking for logistics, ensuring accurate cost allocation and detailed reporting for all transportation-related expenses. You will execute data-entry into the Transportation Management System (TMS) and reconcile and maintain vendor accounts, resolving discrepancies as they arise. Collaboration with vendors and internal teams will be essential to efficiently resolve invoicing issues and discrepancies. Additionally, you will prepare, review, and analyze accounting reports to support financial decisions and strategic planning by leadership. Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and payments is critical to ensure compliance with company policies. You will utilize the McLeod Transportation Management System (TMS), especially with experience in accounting modules, and leverage Microsoft Excel for data analysis, financial reporting, and tracking expenses. Your role will also involve assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and generating necessary financial reports. Working closely with the accounting department to support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations will be part of your responsibilities.
