About The Position

This position has multiple responsibilities in Accounts Payable for a large social services department. The AP Associate will ensure the timely processing of invoices, petty cash, rents, etc. Responsible for monitoring and approving credit card purchases. Researches vendors, payments, as needed. Insures new vendors provide appropriate documentation, insurance. Provides training as needed on related topics. Utilization reports and analysis as requested. Serves as point person for divisional Finance staff, Auditors, DDP office staff performing these functions and field staff in the area of Accounts Payable activity. The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 4 years of accounting/secretarial experience.
  • Excellent organizational and tracking skills.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel and Word.
  • Detail oriented including accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and possess professional communication skills, both in writing and orally.
  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • An appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of the Salvation Army are essential.

  • Associate Degree or greater in a related field a plus.
