The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing expense processing, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and resolving issues related to accounts payable. This position requires effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and involves problem-solving and process improvement initiatives within a hybrid work environment.

  • Analyze expense processing and obtain proper authorization for disbursements related to non-po invoices, discretionary, and expense reimbursement transactions.
  • Classify and analyze accounts payable data and transactions from multiple sources using accounting principles and practices.
  • Perform problem resolutions, including analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and corrective actions related to processes.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers, providing routine to intermediate analysis/reports and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Utilize various software applications to generate data for analysis.
  • Research and assist with evaluating processes to recommend improvements and standardization for accounts payable systems and policies.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to FRS guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, preferably within a Shared Services Center or consolidated environment focusing on customer service.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely with minimal errors.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Capable problem-solving, organizational, planning, and self-management skills; strategic thinking and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Strong collaboration, consensus building, and relationship management skills with the ability to handle conflict.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • Experience with various software and ERP packages, including MS Word, Excel, Access database/queries, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Accounts Payable certification (APS) is a plus.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.
