About The Position

The Accounting Technician III assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function, or project. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities. Under direct supervision, this position works on the most complex clerical functions related to accounting activities.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to five (5) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or global equivalent with a preference for accounting education in a technical or advanced education environment
  • Prior accounting experience in a similar environment
  • Five (5) years of job-related accounts payable experience
  • Knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Applications (Excel & Word) and accounting software
  • Good verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to continuously engage in AP process improvement
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receiving, verifying, and processing vendor invoices in accordance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Research and resolve invoice/PO matching issues
  • Review and verify checks to ensure the accuracy of invoice processing by peers.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements
  • Following up with vendors and project personnel on issues related to accounts payable and maintaining good relationships with them
  • May provide guidance to lower-level technicians and clerks
  • May interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, vendors, and project personnel
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
  • Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
  • Adhere to and support AMECO’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned
