About The Position

This position will provide fiscal and compliance support for the following programs Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), Community Development Block Grant – COVID (CDBG-CV), Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), and Main Street & Rural Planning (MSRP). The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and processing employee expense reports, motor fleet billing, processing of payments for direct and/or matching vendor invoices, grantee request for federal funds, payment verification status via North Carolina Finance System (NCFS), the submission and follow up of vendor setups in National Carolina Finance System (NCFS). This position will also be tasked with cash receipts, reconciliation of financial records, preparation of financial reports, and procurement. Division of Rural & Economic Development The Rural Economic Development Division (REDD)'s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funding is available to local units of government and municipalities for projects to enhance the vitality of communities through the provision of decent housing and suitable living environments and expanding economic opportunities. CDBG program funds primarily serve individuals and households with low and moderate incomes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
