About The Position

This job opportunity is not in the classified service and is not covered by the WV Division of Personnel merit system. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is committed to providing programs to explore, conserve, develop, and protect the use of the State's natural resources. We are looking for the right person to work in the administration unit providing support to the agency. Role and Responsibilities: Assist in reconciling daily deposits and recording revenues for all areas of the agency Collect, balance, audit accounting codes, and remit daily deposits from all sections of the WVDNR Review and reconcile all credit cards and cash deposits made off-site for the WVDNR Process all federal funds received Process, release, and track performance bonds Provide the State Treasurer's Office with funding codes as needed Communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of customers both in and outside of the division Other duties as assigned Regular attendance is required

Requirements

  • Training:Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.
  • Experience:Four years of full time or equivalent part time paid bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience.
  • Substitution:Successful completion of college-level accounting courses from an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of three semester hours equals six months experience;
  • OR
  • Successful completion of related business school or vocational training may be substituted for the experience through an established formula.
