The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena. This position is the first point of contact for assisting customers with Medically Needy and Worker’s with Disabilities Cost Share payments by telephone and in person for the Business and Financial Services Division. Responsibilities include, handling daily call operations and ensuring customer needs are fully resolved, maintaining customer records and financial accounts by processing customer payment and adjustments, assisting walk-in customers related to payment processing and other account services and processing mail and conducting research and account analysis. The position is responsible for interacting with internal and external clients on a regular basis, including case workers, program staff, (ex: Medicaid) and the authorized representatives for the clients. Requirements

  • Knowledge of customer service, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Skill with standard office databases and computer equipment, including keyboarding with speed, using a spreadsheet, word processing, and ability to use multiple complex computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and predictable schedule.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of vocational or post-secondary education/training in office administration or equivalent.
  • Two years of office experience such as customer service, insurance processing, or bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Equivalent combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Call center experience, skill with call center equipment, computer software and procedures.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls.
