About The Position

The Accounting Team Lead will supervise, track, and evaluate the day-to-day accounting functions. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections processes. This position will also support budgeting and forecasting and work closely with leadership to support company growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Experience with fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and working with external auditors required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting software, especially QuickBooks Online.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ability to understand and implement required changes in financial reporting.
• Organization skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, collections activities, and bank reconciliations.
• Month-end and year end closing procedures.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Communicate any potential issues or discrepancies discovered during financial review processes to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with third-party audits and tax returns.
• Assist with the year-end audit and preparation of necessary schedules and documentation.
• Complete annual 1099 reporting and ensure timely filing of all tax reports and business licenses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate submission forms.
• Report and file sales taxes.
• Maintain internal controls and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Liaise with department Management to improve financial procedures.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
