About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for preparing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting month, quarter, and year-end close processes. This role also supervises the accounting team, promotes a strong team morale and respectful work environment, and supports the organization’s financial objectives Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting and/or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training’ or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee all general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and maintain intercompany invoices, and monthly payment details for Mimaki HQ
  • Prepare and submit intercompany payments and transfers to Mimaki HQ
  • Oversee Accounts Payable including new vendor setup, ACH review, employee reimbursements and vendor payments, and aging reconciliation
  • Review and approve daily and weekly payment files including ACH, wire transfers, and checks
  • Oversee new Dealer setup
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
  • Oversee timecard approvals, punch changes, and PTO and OT request
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide on-going coaching to department employees
  • Address performance issues promptly and constructively
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members
  • Partner with management to help build and strengthen the accounting team
  • Member of the J-SOX Accounting team
  • Review sales & use tax returns, fixed asset and depreciation adjustments, customer credit limit adjustments, and credit memos on an as needed basis
  • Review and maintain accounting manuals
  • Prepare an information request from Mimaki HQ or other Mimaki Departments
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and/or Director with any additional tasks related to the Accounting Department
