The Accounting Supervisor supports plant financial operations by overseeing daily accounting activities, supervising accounting and payroll staff, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role plays a key part in capital expenditure (CapEx) management, inventory management, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes. The Accounting Supervisor helps maintain strong internal controls within a manufacturing environment and partners closely with operations to provide financial insights that support efficiency and profitability. This position is responsible for supervising Accounting Analysts and overseeing a wide range of advanced duties involving the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the management of financial accounts and plant operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP and financial reporting systems; advanced Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly complex accounting tasks requiring strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Manage and maintain policies and procedures related to financial reporting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Reconcile accounting data and ensure accuracy of financial statements and management reports.
  • Review, analyze, and present financial data, including factory expenses, daily production reports, cost variances, and freight analysis.
  • Support the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain various ledgers, journals, registers, and other fiscal records in compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
