About The Position

Purpose & Scope: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the financial operations of the hospital system by overseeing daily accounting tasks, month-end close processes, financial statements, reconciled accounts, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role includes supervising staff, collaborating closely with accounting leadership and key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial records, and supporting the organization’s mission to deliver high-quality healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or in a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge in accounting software (e.g., Lawson, Oracle, Epic, or similar ERP systems).
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, and mentoring direct reports.
  • CPA is required.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High level of organization and ability to lead and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with people at all levels and across organizations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to share and communicate information from leadership to multiple functional areas to assess accounting impact
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise a team
  • Excellent attention to detail while working quickly and efficiently in fast-paced environments, consistently identifying and minimizing errors
  • Advanced proficiency with office technology; Microsoft Outlook and Excel required, and Microsoft Word a plus
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Shows full ownership of assigned tasks

  • Master's degree in accounting or in a related field may be considered in lieu of certification.
