About The Position

Custom Air and Plumbing, a NearU Company in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial processing, timely payroll reporting, and exceptional internal and vendor support. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Previous experience in accounts payable and/or payroll preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

Match and receive invoices accurately and timely
Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
Assist with processing and paying vendor bills
Record payments and maintain accurate accounting records
Maintain and update vendor files and documentation
Field and respond to vendor inquiries professionally
Assist with weekly payroll reporting and processing
Collect, review, and process employee timesheets
Record job timesheets and ensure proper job coding
Maintain employee payroll and personnel files
Assist with onboarding new hires, including payroll setup
Support employee termination and final pay reporting
Assist with employee benefits administration as needed
