About The Position

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in Opelousas, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting our organization's accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail in financial record-keeping
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tax preparation or tax compliance
  • Familiarity with audit procedures and internal controls
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial records
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare and verify financial statements, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure data integrity
  • Support the audit process by organizing financial documentation and providing requested information to auditors
  • Enter and verify financial data into accounting systems and spreadsheets with precision
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations
  • Monitor and track expenses, invoices, and purchase orders to maintain organized financial records
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhere to all organizational policies
