As the Accounting Specialist at the Nasher Museum of Art, you'll play a key role in supporting a vibrant cultural institution known for its commitment to contemporary art and inclusion. You'll join a collaborative team that values precision, integrity, and proactive problem-solving. The Nasher Museum is celebrating 20 years of groundbreaking exhibitions and global impact. As our Accounting Specialist, you'll help ensure the financial health of the museum by managing complex accounting tasks, supporting grant reconciliation, and streamlining financial processes. Your work will directly support our mission to amplify historically underrepresented voices in the arts. This is a part-time (24 hours/week), hourly position. Requirements
- Two years of post-secondary education in accounting or a related business field
- Three years in an accounting setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Familiarity with SAP or similar financial software
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, purchase orders, expense transfers, and billing
- Reconcile accounts monthly and prepare detailed financial statements
- Analyze financial data to maintain accurate records
- Prepare templates for annual budget planning
- Assist in developing and reconciling grant-related financial reports
- Track expenditures and ensure grant compliance
- Collaborate with museum staff on financial and grant activities
- Respond to accounting inquiries and improve financial workflows
- Other Duties as Assigned
