About The Position

The Accounting Technician position provides purchasing, accounts payable, account reporting and reconciliation oversight services to appropriate staff within the CSU Health Network. This position works regularly with various personnel at all levels in the Health Network, as well as with personnel in the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), and the University’s central administrative units. This is a regular, 12-month position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, in-office/in-person. CSU Health Network The CSU Health Network (CSUHN) at Colorado State University provides a full range of cost-effective mental health and primary care medical services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and comprehensive health education and prevention services programming. Services such as physical therapy, dentistry, and optometry are available. The CSU Health Network is active in creating a healthy campus environment to support learning and success. Accounting Services The CSU Health Network Accounting Services department maintains and improves the processes that protect the financial integrity of Colorado State University Health Network. The department provides accounting, purchasing and inventory control support to departments within the Health Network; monitors transaction flow to assure compliance with Federal, State, and University laws, regulation, and policies; analyzes and interprets financial data as part of the overall control of University fiscal goals and concerns; and formulates financial statements and reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Accounting department provides services between the hours of 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, providing attractive work schedules for staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED), plus three years of purchasing and accounts payable experience; OR Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business, plus one year of purchasing and accounts payable experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Health Network follows CDC guidelines for Employee Health in a healthcare setting, including proof of vaccinations. Employees must show proof of compliance/willingness to comply by start date.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate departmental purchasing and procurement activities in compliance with CSU policies and procedures, including ordering office and non-stock supplies, establishing and maintaining open purchase orders, and providing guidance to departmental units on purchasing processes
  • Utilize CSU financial systems, including Kuali, to process purchase requests, disbursement vouchers, and other financial transactions; use the CSU Purchasing Card (PCard) in accordance with established guidelines
  • Collect, review, and process invoices, packing slips, staff reimbursements for travel and non-travel related expenses, and obtain supporting documentation; route transactions for payment through Accounts Payable and reconcile open purchase order activity, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records; review account activity and postings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation
  • Prepare and record daily deposits accurately reporting revenue and payments into Kuali.
  • Support accounting and reporting functions in accordance with CSU fiscal standards
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to support departmental compliance with CSU fiscal policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental operations
