SECO Niagara Cutter is part of the Sandvik business area Machining. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Professional to join our team!

Requirements

Technical learning ability
Advanced knowledge of General Accounting and Cost Accounting principles
High level of integrity and ability to maintain strong controls environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work with information
Strong ERP and financial system background preferred.
Proficient with software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to create, modify and ensure accuracy of complex spreadsheets.
You possess a bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and have at least 2-4 years of business finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must possess excellent communications, planning and organizational skills.
You are highly organized, strongly analytical, and have a keen attention to detail and ability to question the facts.
You are highly adaptable and work effectively in teams and outside the formal line of authority to accomplish your organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Develop the ways of working in the general accounting area.
Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.
Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects.
Provide financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget.
Maintain facility's accounts payable process ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of payments.
Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP data through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing.
Assist with month-end/year-end closing activity as required including processing journal entries
Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
Maintain internal controls consistent with corporate requirements and good business practice.
Coordinate physical inventories with the Inventory Control Specialist
Must be willing to travel, some internationally
