About The Position

Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants, and more. Job Summary : The Accounting Operations Analyst will perform routine tasks, including the primary duty of monthly bank reconciliations of 250+ bank accounts, coding accounts receivable items, and fielding questions from accounting teams and management. Must be knowledgeable on multi-location account coding.

Requirements

Word processing experience in a computer based environment with MS Word
Spreadsheet experience in a Windows environment with Excel
Ten key and keyboarding skills with emphasis on accuracy and proficiency
Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks
Strong written and oral communications skills in order to communicate problems and compose basic internal informational messages
Ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies
Ability to recognize and respect confidential nature of information handled

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience in daily accounting operations, reconciling accounts, locating general ledger information, and updating financial systems through data entry
Must be highly detail-oriented
Experience with Microsoft Business Central general ledger desired.

Responsibilities

Establish priorities to meet deadlines and goals within guidelines established by management
Verify data for accuracy and identify situations where further research and investigation is required
Adhere to bank reconciliation procedures and controls
Additional accounting tasks and cross training within the department
Predictable, reliable and dependable attendance is a requirement of the position.
