About The Position

Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Accounting and Office Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for accurate data entry in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as providing general administrative support.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Needs analytical mindset and good Excel
  • Bill.com and QuickBooks experience

  • AP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices, payments, and financial transactions into accounting software accurately and promptly
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including generating and sending invoices
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and customers regarding invoices and payments
  • Support other accounting tasks as needed
  • Monitor and replenish office supplies
  • Handle incoming mail and process correspondence
  • Deposit checks and maintain related documentation
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job openings and scheduling interviews
  • Coordinate team meetings and support onboarding of new employees
  • Maintain electronic and physical records
  • Help organize company events or staff gatherings
  • Ensure office equipment is maintained and arrange repairs as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to management and team members
