The NA Accounting Manager (hybrid) is a key member of our growing North America (NA) Accounting organization, optimizing the company for commercial growth. You will oversee month-end close activities and play a pivotal role as we scale our systems, processes and people. Reporting to the VP, Accounting & Controller, you are a self-starter with a strong attention to detail, possess a process improvement mindset, are comfortable with ambiguity, and have a blend of public and accounting operations experience. Requirements

  • Growth-minded: Experienced in their speciality field but hungry for continuous learning and improvement

  • Self-starter: willing to dig into new concepts, make recommendations with limited information, and be highly effective with minimal direction and supervision

  • Focused: we are a small team with many competing priorities. To be effective in this role you need to be able to isolate where you can have the greatest impact and rigorously prioritize.
  • Willingness to travel: we operate throughout the United States, Canada, India and Australia and employees are required to travel from time to time.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance/Accounting; CPA a plus
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities and to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective leader with excellent oral and written communication
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, such as NetSuite and other accounting systems
  • Organized, attentive to detail, and takes pride in delivered workpapers

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing & Project Accounting experience are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the North American month-end close process, including the review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and accruals
  • Partner with the Consolidation accountant to ensure North American entities are properly consolidated and intercompany transactions are eliminated
  • Prepare and present regional financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with detailed variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget)
  • Ensure all regional accounting practices comply with US GAAP, specifically focusing on ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases)
  • Oversee the AP and AR functions, ensuring efficient cash application and vendor payment cycles that scale with our headcount growth
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit, managing the PBC list and technical inquiries
  • Assist with the implementation & testing of new accounting systems & with the development of a SOX framework
  • Optimize accounting processes and assist with the eventual implementation of a SOX program
  • Manage state and local tax compliance, including sales tax, property tax, and corporate filings across all US and Canadian jurisdictions
  • Coach and mentor staff on the team
  • Assist in special projects as needed
