About The Position

The Accounting Manager is a key member of Avion’s Corporate Accounting team and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across assigned properties. This role oversees the monthly close process, supports hotel transitions, leads and develops accounting staff, and partners closely with ownership, General Managers, and senior accounting leadership. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and is excited to help build scalable processes as the company continues to expand. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles; hotel accounting experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant accounting experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M3 Accounting Core and ProfitSword is a plus
  • CPA designation preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Review balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and applicable financial reporting standards
  • Provide accounting support to General Managers and Controllers for assigned properties
  • Support hotel onboarding and transition activities for newly acquired or managed properties
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide documentation for annual and quarterly audits as needed
  • Act in the best interest of ownership, providing proactive and timely communication
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting guidelines
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and other corporate teams to support business needs
  • Assist with corporate accounting initiatives, process improvements, and ad hoc projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Lead and manage accounting staff during the monthly close process
  • Review reconciliations and financial work prepared by staff accountants
  • Serve as a liaison with select third-party business partners as needed
