As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a vital role in stewarding the financial foundation of a multi-entity wine business. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers while guiding a team and partnering across the organization. You’ll help ensure our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant—so leadership can make confident decisions, and the business can continue to thrive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Six to eight years related experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead & motivate direct reports.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Power Point and Accounting Software, preferably Great Plains Dynamics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring invoices are coded correctly, policies are followed, and balances are accurate.
  • Review general ledger activity and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, making sure everything ties out and reflects the true state of the business.
  • Lead the month-end close, from journal entries through final reporting.
  • Analyze results, investigate variances, and work closely with cross-functional partners to resolve questions and improve processes.
  • Support inventory and cost accounting, including reconciliations, physical counts, and valuation.
  • Prepare clear, thoughtful financial reports that support planning, forecasting, and informed decision-making.
  • Help improve accounting systems, workflows, and controls to keep us operating efficiently as we grow.
  • Support budgeting efforts and annual external audits.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a collaborative accounting team across AP, AR, and General Ledger.
  • Set priorities, manage workflows, and ensure close and reporting deadlines are consistently met.
  • Foster a team culture built on accountability, trust, and attention to detail.
  • Step in to support the team when needed—because we succeed together.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Leads, hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops the accounting team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions.
  • Assigns work and manages workflow to ensure timely month-end close and reporting deadlines.
  • Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Provides backup coverage for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory functions as needed.
