Join our team at Great Lakes Management as an Accounting Manager! This role supervises our Assisted Living accounting team and is responsible for overseeing monthly financial statement production and related accounting functions for the Assisted Living communities we manage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired, with emphasis on accounting and finance.
  • 5+ years of related work experience;EldermarkandReal Page software experience helpful.
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable knowledge.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures,systemsand equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills, includingoperatinga Windows-based environment, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.
  • Possessa high levelof problem solving and investigative skills.
  • Able to remain calm and objective in unusual and sometimes sensitive or stressful situations.
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision (must be highly motivated and self-directed).
  • Understand and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Appropriatelymaintainfinancial and other confidential information
  • Experience inAssisted Living orProperty Management isrequired.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing assigned accounting team’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements/reports for managed properties.
  • Responsible formaintainingappropriate accountingsoftware systems.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising assigned accounting team staff.
  • Responsible forestablishingand maintaining systems and internal controls that verify the integrity of all systems,processesand data in collaboration with fellow Accounting Manager and Director of Corporate and AL Accounting.
  • Responsible for reviewing/approving payments generated by AP for assigned accounting team.
  • Responsible for preparing sales tax entries for managed properties.
  • Participate in a variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
